Yes, you read the title correctly. This is not a recipe for humans my friends. Well, I suppose you could eat these if you really wanted to, but I’m not sure they’d be the tastiest things. This is for all the little doggy buddies in your life. Don’t they deserve the best?
The other day I realized Franklin was running out of his cookies, so I wrote “Franklin’s snacks” on the shopping list (yes, that’s what I call them). As I was writing it I realized that I make most of Ross and my treats, so why not the pupper’s?
After a little googling I found a recipe to base mine off of. These are really easy and are full of good things for dogs. Pumpkin is super healthy, as is peanut butter. Also, they got good reviews from Mr. F, so what else could you want?

Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Cookies
Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1 egg
2 heaping tablespoons peanut butter
1-2 tbsp. water
dash cinnamon
dash salt
1.) Preheat oven to 350*
2.) Combine all ingredients except for the water in a bowl and mix. I wound up using my hands because it’s a really dry dough, so a little kneading helped it combine. Add the water if you need it (I added a splash).
3.) Line a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper.
4.) Grab a piece of that dough that you think is appropriate for your dog. My little man is about 23 pounds, so I used about a teaspoon or so. Roll the dough into a ball, then press it between your palms to flatten.
5.) Line the cookies onto the baking sheet. They don’t need to be spread out much because they don’t rise at all.
6.) Bake for 40 minutes, or until hard.
