I’m Alive!

Whoa! Here I am – posting. Crazy!

I’ve been a little MIA as of late. I don’t really have too much of an excuse I suppose, but for some reason little ol’ sweeter salt has been a bit neglected lately. I’ve been pretty busy, which is one reason, but I’ve also just been pretty uninspired. Meals have been sort of thrown together and my work outfits have been a little boring. Post-wedding funk? Not sure. I mean, I’m happy and enjoying life, but I’m just not feeling all that creative. I need to snap back into it!

Anyways, this photo was taken a few weeks ago, before Labor Day. It looks so summery! Though it is still pretty warm out, there is a definite fall feeling in the air. I love fall so much – the weather is just perfect, but there is something sad about it. Winter sucks! So, here’s to clinging to summer for just a little bit longer.

Red skirt: American Apparel
Yellow button down shirt: Gap (a million years ago)
Straw belt: thrifted
Tan wedges: L.L. Bean Signature
Tan bag: L.L. Bean Signature
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunglasses: 80′s Purple
White flower ring: some random boutique in some random coastal Maine town

If you’re a blogger, do you ever go through bloggie slumps? Any tips for finding some inspiration?

About sweetersalt

Salt = sodium = bad. Sweet = calories = bad. Well, isn't that just a bleak outlook. I firmly believe that without salt and without sweet we all just live in a world of lettuce. Plain lettuce. Fun? No. This blog is about life. Namely, my life. But, not that specific. I myself am simply not that interesting. I live an ordinary life, work an ordinary job and do ordinary things. But... life is all about experiencing that feeling you get when you really, really like something. If you don't feel a little warm in your heart when you walk into a farmer's market or try on a piece of beautiful clothing that fits you perfectly (that just so happens to be a great deal!) then you should probably keep on a' movin' from my little plot of internet. Sweeter salt is my metaphor for the good things in life, sprinkled over everything in moderation. Banana? Kinda boring. Banana smoothie - yum! White tank top? Yawn. Statement necklace layered over said tank - now we're talking! I live in Portland, Maine. I love cooking, eating out, riding my bike and approachable fashion. This blog does not chronicle my every waking moment. This is because you will probably not be entertained by the 10th day in a row that I eat the exact same salad for lunch. It does chronicle a healthy, active, fun-filled, colorful lifestyle, in Portland and beyond. It also covers dogs. Cute ones mostly.

  1. ahh I am a summer girl through and through…i don’t mind fall, but all i can think about is the fact that winter is coming so i don’t enjoy it like i should!

I totally go through bloggy slumps. I went MIA for almost 2 months.
Having a posting schedule has helped me out a lot. Now I post on M-W-F and try not to let myself slip on those days. Sometimes I have 10 ideas, and then I can space them out over a few weeks, which makes up for days when I have 0 ideas.

guilty. but i’m back on the horse now! or soon, rather. ;)

I definitely have blogger slumps! Kind of all the time, especially lately. With the end of summer and my recent move, I’ve hardly had the time or inspiration to think about blogging.

I love the outfit, too! That skirt is lovely. :)

  5. I absolutely do! When I’m feeling inspiration-less, I like to flip through my favorite magazines and come up with ideas based on articles, images, words…anything. I also keep an “inspiration scrapbook” where I’ve compiled my favorite photos, articles, poems, short stories, etc.

But I wouldn’t worry too much. Feelings like this tend to come and go. Before you know it, you’ll have too many ideas!

I’m in one now!! (As you probably noticed by the fact that I haven’t posted in weeks). I have ideas, I just don’t feel like it! Sigh. Hoping to get a wave of motivation again soon.
