I decided to hit the ground running with the oxblood and peplum trends with this top. Oxblood (eiw, gross word) is fall’s “it” color, which I’m fine and dandy with. It’s flattering for most skin tones, especially we pale girls, and it blends in pretty seamlessly with a “black-heavy” wardrobe.
Black pencil skirt: Banana Republic (old)
Oxblood peplum top: H&M
Gray cardigan: J. Crew (purchased in high school!)
Black heels: Modern Vintage (old)
Black skinny belt: thrifted
The funny thing about this color is that I associate it with t-shirts and sweatshirts. Maroon was the school color of both my high school and college, so my sweats drawer is dominated by crimson. But, I’m happy to upgrade it to “outside the house” wear as well.
Are you doing the oxblood, aka burgundy, aka maroon, aka scarlet, color trend this fall and winter?
